CIMIC Group Limited is the parent of our various Operating Companies. CIMIC sets the strategic direction, financial expectations, risk profile and governance framework for the CIMIC Group and monitors the performance of its Operating Companies (CPB Contractors, UGL, Leighton Asia, Sedgman, Devine, Pacific Partnerships and EIC Activities) and investments (Thiess).
Overview
This role is responsible to drive the review and preparation of the financial reporting of the CIMIC Group.
Key responsibilities for the role include:
- Review and preparation of Group consolidation and financial reporting to Hochtief, on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Maintenance of the HACE upload from Hyperion for reporting to Hochtief, on a quarterly basis
- Review and preparation of analysis of CIMIC Group financial reporting to the Board
- Timely and accurate financial reporting to Hochtief on a quarterly basis
- Training of staff in procedures that provide accurate and complete financial reporting
- Preparation of CIMIC Group reporting timetables
- Direction of Financial Accountants and Senior Financial Accountants, including on consolidation and financial reporting
- Liaising with CIMIC Group Finance teams (including Treasury, Tax, M&A)
- Partner with key and Senior Operating Company stakeholders to provide value added support and guidance
- Providing information to auditors and dealing with audit issues
- Successful implementation of accounting standard changes, when required
- Determining accounting treatment for Operating Company and Group accounting issues
- Providing direction of Financial Accountants on accounting technical matters
- Identification and implementation of improvements in Financial accounting and Finance procedures
- Adhoc projects – accounting advice for M&A transactions, etc.
Education and Qualifications required for this role:
- Degree qualified in Finance / Accounting or other relevant qualification
- Qualified as a Chartered Accountant and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent
- Professional memberships highly regarded
Experience, Skills and Behavioural Competencies required for this role:
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in Finance / Accounting
- Experience working in an large multinational company
- International experience in Finance / Accounting/ Audit
- Experience with a “big 4” global accounting firm
- Industry experience advantageous (Construction, Mining, Services)
- Accounting technical and analytical skills
- Strong team/project management skills and problem-solving skills with a focus on solution-delivery
- Strong interpersonal management and communication competencies
- Proactive with a desire to continuously improve processes and procedures
- Excellent time management skills
- Advanced excel and systems skills
