What you'll do:
As a Finance Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our client's organisation. Your primary responsibilities will include processing payroll and superannuation payments accurately for all staff members. You will also support the finance team in delivering efficient day-to-day operations. Your role will extend beyond traditional finance tasks as you coordinate insurance functions. With your keen attention to detail, you will ensure compliance with legislative requirements while also handling banking systems and products. Your role will be pivotal in accounts receivable duties such as invoice generation, debt collection, reconciliation and reporting. In this role, your ability to prepare monthly sales invoices for verification, approval and distribution will be highly valued.
- Process payroll, superannuation payments and all associated reporting independently and accurately for all staff
- Support the Finance team to deliver day-to-day financial operations efficiently and effectively
- Coordinate the organisation's Insurance function and liaison
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements such as PAYG, STP, Work Cover etc.
- Assist with bank reconciliations when requested and take responsibility for all banking systems and products
- Undertake all Accounts Receivable duties including raising and distribution of invoices and statements, debt collection, reconciliations, reporting etc.
- Prepare monthly sales invoices ready for verification, approval and distribution
- Update financial registers, records, databases as requested
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Finance Officer role will bring a wealth of experience and a strong skill set. With at least 2 years' experience in a similar role, you will be adept at processing payroll for a large team and have a solid understanding of GST legislation and processes. Your high level of numeracy and accuracy, coupled with your attention to detail, will ensure that all financial operations are carried out meticulously. As a quick learner with excellent time management skills, you will be able to work independently within an office environment. - Minimum of 2 year's experience in a similar role
- Experience in processing payroll and associated functions for 40+ staff
- General knowledge of GST legislation and processes
- High level of numeracy and accuracy, with attention to detail
- Quick learner with sound time management skills
- Ability to work independently within an office environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to quality customer service
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office especially Excel
