Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to perform the role of Finance Officer. The position is responsible for the financial functions of the organisation including accounts and payroll, fleet, equipment and asset management.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Formal Qualifications in accounting/bookkeeping
- Advanced knowledge of accounting practices & Microsoft Office
- Minimum of 5 years finance background
- Demonstrated ability to work with Aboriginal organisations, communities, and individuals in culturally appropriate ways
- Demonstrated understanding of the diverse health and social needs the elderly
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, including a friendly and professional approach and an ability to deal with a broad range of people at all levels.
- Demonstrated organisational and time management skills, including an ability to prioritise, manage multiple tasks, work to deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Demonstrated capacity to manage sensitive information, maintain confidentiality and always remain impartial.
- Self-motivated and demonstrated ability of working autonomously with minimal supervision, and as an effective team member, promoting cooperation and commitment to achieve goals.
Duties will include (please see position description for full details):
- Management of Accounts Payable & Receivable processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly.
- Monitoring bank accounts weekly and reconciling bank accounts monthly.
- Monthly recording of investment portfolio transactions and reconciliation of investment cash accounts
- Calculation of/journal entry of gains/losses on disposal of investments.
- Preparation and monitoring of the implementation of the annual budget.
- Preparation of Annual Financial Statement Reports for the external auditors utilising IFRS.
- Calculation of/journal entry of all depreciation and exit fees on licensed tenures on a quarterly basis.
- Calculation of/journal entry of gains/losses on disposal of assets.
- Monitoring the compliance with government legislation e.g. ATO (BAS, IAS), ACNC.
- Providing quarterly reports of patrimony accounts.
- Establishing strong internal control processes and procedures
- Management of the company’s financial systems.
