The Opportunity
In this role you will be responsible for overseeing our client’s financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. You will be responsible for performing daily accounting tasks such as monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, and record payments and adjustments.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will require previous experience in:
- Maintaining records of financial transactions by establishing accounts, posting transactions and ensuring legal requirements compliance.
- Accounting for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts.
- Maintaining subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
- Balancing subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
- Maintaining the General Ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
- Balancing the General Ledger by preparing a trial balance and reconciling entries.
- Maintaining historical records by filing documents.
- Preparing financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising account information and trends.
- Processing Credit Card reconciliations including following up with relevant staff to retrieve receipts and coding them for data entry.
- Entering details of new employees and creating HR files.
- Checking and coding Payroll timesheets in readiness for processing.
- Entering Payroll data and producing reports for checking by the Finance Manager.
- Preparing reports, including supporting documentation for monthly PAYG(W) and quarterly BAS lodgements and payments.
- Preparing supporting documentation for quarterly Superannuation lodgements and payments in addition to preparing documentation for quarterly LSL QLeave lodgements and payments and Workcover lodgements and payments.
- Preparing income invoices for Grant instalments per grant agreements.
- Assisting the Finance Manager with the development and preparation of the annual Capex and Opex budget.
- Previous experience using MYOB.
- Certificate IV in Accounting and/or Bookkeeping or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience working within an indigenous organisation.
