An exciting opportunity has become available for a Finance Officer to join the Network Billing Team, ICT Resources and Initiatives, Customer Engagement Unit, Information and Technologies Branch. As the Finance Officer you will: provide Telco voice & data billing financial analysis and support services. You will access and manage carrier specific systems as well as the Dept of Education's billing and inventory management system. You will be knowledgeable about Telco carrier billing, investigating and disputing billing anomalies as well as billing data analysis for the purpose of identifying and reporting on trends and issues related to voice and data services. The Finance Officer reports to the Service Delivery Manager, Network Billing Unit, ICT Initiatives & Resources, Customer Engagement, Information and Technologies Branch.

Your Role:
In support of the department's Digital Strategy 2022-26, the Finance Officer supports our workforce to build and maintain their ICT Systems and services through the delivery of better outcomes by leveraging and scaling ICT services.
As the Finance Officer you will:
- Provide Telco voice & data billing financial analysis and support services. You will access and manage carrier specific systems as well as the Dept of Education's billing and inventory management system.
- You'll have prior experience with Telco carrier billing, investigating and disputing billing anomalies as well as billing data analysis for the purpose of identifying and reporting on trends and issues related to business unit strategies.
Responsibilities include:
• Manage the extraction, validation and reconciliation of telecommunications billing through third party applications, and processing of invoices in the departmental financial system (SAP).
• Compile, interpret and present accurate, timely and reliable financial data for a range of reporting purposes including management performance reporting obligations, monthly/quarterly reporting to senior management and ad hoc requests.
• Manage telco billing related requests to resolution from corporate and school entities
About You:
The below items represent highly desirable qualities that the ideal candidate would posses:
- Able to aggregate and collate voice and data billing in a timely manner, meeting deadlines and ensuring accuracy, including raising of disputes to carriers, in preparation for payment.
- Excellent attention to detail, ability to synthesise information from a range of sources, analyse data and communicate findings to a range of stakeholders within defined timeframes.
- Proven experience liaising with a range of internal and external stakeholders in order to gather data
- Good written and verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate in a clear, succinct and deliberate manner, adjusting the message so that it resonates with different stakeholders
- Previous experience in a large, complex, operating environment
- Understanding of, or experience in, telco billing and/or Billing & Inventory Management systems
