Financial Accountant | Lower North Shore | $90-105K Super

Reporting to the Financial Manager, this role involves providing high quality financial accounting services for the comoany. This position is responsible for supporting financial decision-making by collecting, analysing, investigating, and reporting financial data.

Key duties

• Support and coordinate an effective and timely month end close;
• Review Journal entries to ensure compliance with internal policy and accounting standards;
• Drive Balance Sheet reconciliation accuracy ensuring a timely resolution of outstanding and aging items;
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting records and financial systems, as well as identify opportunities to enhance system efficiencies;
• Ensure timeliness and accuracy of statutory financial reporting and tax returns by working closely with external auditors and tax agents;
• Build and develop relationships with finance mangers across segments;
• Communicate regularly with business partners to ensure they are fully informed of any accounting initiatives; and
• Proactively drive and engage in process improvement projects/ global initiatives.

The Successful Applicant

• CA or CPA qualified or equivalent with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience and skilled in all aspects of financial accounting;
• Intermediate/Advanced experience with IT and systems including financial programs/ ERP system, word, excel and outlook;
• Excellent communication skills, a high attention to detail and a positive attitude with the experience in delivering impeccable customer/stakeholder service;
• Strong administrative and procedural skills with effective record keeping ability;
• Maturity and confidence to deal with confidential and/or sensitive information;
• Understanding of spreadsheets, data analysis and reconciliation procedures with strong administrative and procedural skills; and
• Ability to work effectively with campus and support office staff.
