About the role
As part of the Finance Functions second line of defence, the role supports the Senior Accountants to ensure accurate and timely regulatory reporting and accounting matters for the Group.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to.
- Annual Financial Report
- Work as part of the team, to prepare elements of the annual financial report. This will include sourcing and verifying relevant inputs from internal stakeholders and working closely with external auditors in validating the accuracy of the financial report.
- Regulatory Reporting
- Prepare and submit APRA reporting requirements accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with APRA reporting standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address any APRA reporting queries or issues.
- Financial Control
- Provide financial control oversight and segregation of duties over the Payables Process and review bank payments before releasing funds.
- Analyse financial data and prepare relevant reports for management reviews. Perform monthly reconciliations over balance sheet accounts.
- Provide support for bank reconciliation processes as needed.
- Reporting
- Assistance with the preparation of elements required for External Compliance to government bodies, where needed.
What will you bring?
- Degree in Accounting or relevant discipline
- ACA/CPA or equivalent qualification or working towards qualification
- Commercial experience highly regarded
- General understanding of the Corporations Act, APRA reporting requirements and standards, , Australian Accounting Standards, Banking Law & Practices
- Willingness to learn new concepts and tasks, with enthusiasm
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and Microsoft Office
- General knowledge of Accounting systems, preferably TechnologyOne
- Flexibility and willingness to take on additional responsibilities within the team as required
- Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
