This is a 6 month fixed term contract, with an excellent salary on offer depending on the successful candidate's experience. This role will be based in their corporate office and you will work with a collaborative, vibrant and supportive team.
The Key responsibilities for the Financial Controller include:
- Management Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts with comprehensive variance analysis and commentary.
- Financial Accounting: Manage the month-end close process and oversee income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Partner with internal stakeholders to prepare the annual budget and maintain rolling reforecasts. Additionally, prepare regular cash flow forecasts.
- Financial Analysis: Provide insightful P&L analysis to support operational decision-making.
- Operational Finance: Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll functions, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Cost Control: Implement cost control measures to optimize operational efficiency and reduce unnecessary expenses.
- Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with all relevant financial regulations, compliance requirements, and tax laws to ensure the organisation's adherence to relevant rules and regulations. Embed governance practices.
- Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and support for professional growth and development.
- CA or CPA qualification with extensive experience in a similar financial leadership role within mining and resources.
- Strong people leadership skills with a passion for developing high-performance teams.
- Exceptional business partnering abilities, capable of influencing stakeholders across the organisation.
- Working knowledge of Pronto and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills, integrity, and ethical behaviour along with values that are aligned to the business.
- Possesses a solid work ethic and strong desire to do things safely and efficiently.
- Is self-directed and self-motivated, demonstrating initiative to do more than is expected or required in the position.
- Ability to deal with conflict and challenging situations.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
