Manuka Resources Limited (ASX: MKR) is an Australian mining and exploration company with key gold and silver assets located in the Cobar Basin, central west New South Wales and offshore vanadium bearing iron sands in the South Taranaki Bight of New Zealand.
The Position
Based in their Sydney CBD Head office and working closely with the COO , Executive Directors and broader leadership team, the Financial Controller will be responsible for providing financial management and oversight to the business and its entities while strengthening and developing relevant financial controls.
Managing a small team, you will be a hands-on leader, working closely to support, develop and streamline the finance operations, but also connecting with relevant external stakeholders to the business. You will ensure a culture of financial best practices to provide financial guidance and leadership to both existing and new business opportunities and projects as they develop.
- Budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and maintaining accurate accounting records.
- Managing the monthly financial and Board reporting and Preparation of timely and accurate consolidated financial statements and annual reports and Quarterly cashflow reports
- Lead financial reporting activities, including the preparation of financial statements, reports, and presentations for management and external stakeholders.
- Manage all company secretarial matters and ensure compliance with all ASX listing Rules and Guidelines.
- Manage the Board Activities including preparation of the board pack, manage, attend, and minute the board meetings.
- Manage relationships with external partners, including financial institutions, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to small finance team fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to optimise profitability and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Contribute to the initiation and implementation of process improvements and project cost efficiencies.
The Person
The ideal candidate will possess the following key skills and experience;
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. CA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Financial Controller or finance manager role, ideally within the resources industry.
- Experience working within an ASX-listed organisation with Company Secretarial experience is highly desired.
- Knowledge of payroll processes, systems and employment standards
- High attention to detail and strong time management skills
- Ability to review, develop and streamlines business systems and tools.
- Strong commercial and business acumen
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, across all departments
