About the Role
The Financial Controller plays a critical role in overseeing the financial control environment, related systems and statutory compliance for Aramex Australia office. Reporting to the Regional CFO and forming a key role in the regional finance structure for Aramex Oceania, the Australian Financial Controller supports the profitable growth of the Aramex business through managing the finance operations function to deliver the Company’s financial performance reporting and analysis.
The role also oversees the preparation of financial statements and assist the CFO in tax matters of related party entities.

About the Role
Based in Aramex’s Sydney Office, the Financial Controller is responsible for managing the timely delivery of Aramex Australia’s financial performance reporting and analysis for the business. The role is responsible for financial control area, management control area (that primarily focusses on budgeting and forecasting) and payroll area. A summary of areas and specifics are provided below.
Responsibilities relating to Financial Control include:
- Preparing the financial reports for Aramex Australia, monthly accounts & costing analysis, and the provision of management reports to various business departments and teams enabling them to effectively manage their departmental budgets. Ensuring all financial and management reporting is completed in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Ensuring that all reports are delivered to stakeholders by due dates, including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Variance Analysis and Cash flow reports.
- Management of the key finance functions in Australia and some functions as they relate to the regional finance model.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and review of finance activities across the company to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks.
- Ensuring statutory audit obligations are delivered effectively with full compliance on financial control area, the company’s leadership team is made aware of management letter points raised by auditors and periodic updates are provided on progress towards closing these points.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in accounting, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with current full membership to the Chartered Accountants Institute of Australia & New Zealand
- Demonstrated and proven experience in accounting related roles
- Deep analytical capability and ability to apply strategic thinking to financial reporting and analysis.
- Demonstratable experience in planning, implementing & managing effective organisation-wide processes, and demonstrated success in influencing business decisions.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills with ability to consult and provide advice to all levels of the organisation.
- Strong business and management report writing skills.
- Strong team management skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills with an ability to prioritise and manage workload, meet deadlines and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Demonstrated experience in accounting software packages.
