We seek an experienced leader with extensive financial experience and knowledge who understands and appreciates being actively involved with the operations of the business. The ideal candidate will have experience in the wine industry or a food manufacturing company, giving her/him a grounding in best-in-class finance and management processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial and operational reporting to internal and external stakeholders that ensures real time business intelligence.
- Work with the Business Unit Managers to understand their business, challenge operations, and maximize their long-term earnings potential and return on invested capital.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to identify growth targets and conduct deep fundamental analysis before deploying capital.
- Develop an IT strategy that provides financial analysis and business intelligence systems to enable real time data driven decisions.
Tactical Areas of Focus
- Perform timely and insightful financial and operational analysis and present the related data, information, and reports to the senior management team for review, decision making and action.
- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation, analysis, presentation and filing of all financial reports, statements and returns under federal and state tax laws and regulations with appropriate regulatory and tax authorities.
- Risk Management – identification, active management, and reporting of financial, commodity, operational and general liability risks.
- Audit and Tax – tax compliance oversight, including internal process controls.
- Treasury – assist the founder with daily cash flow management to maximize return on available cash and working capital. Maintain all financial books and records and oversee the quarterly and annual review of the company’s financial statements and interim reviews of the books and records by independent accountants.
- Manage and oversee revenue and expense forecasting techniques, information system innovations, and cost saving initiatives.
- Develop and implement strategic financial objectives that support the company’s growth plans.
- Mentor and motivate the staff and recruit talented, competent, and committed associates.

Experience
- Minimum 10 years financial and/or operational management experience with at least 5 years at a senior financial level, preferably with some leadership experience in a mid-sized, privately held company.
- Significant experience with finance functions; solid working knowledge of other business functions in wine and or food processing/manufacturing experience including a deep understanding of manufacturing cost accounting.
- Experience recruiting and leading a financial team.
- Management or understanding of IT functions;
- Experience in finance, accounting, tax, financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, information technology, cash management, forecasting and preparation of related monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and statements.
- Experience managing the components of finance, accounting, treasury, and customer service.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or relevant discipline. MBA desirable. CPA or CA is a plus.
