The City of Sydney is seeking a Financial Systems Project Officer to join the Business Planning & Performance Unit to assist in the delivery of projects for the City’s corporate financial management and business planning and performance system (TechnologyOne) and other related FINANCIAL SYSTEMS. The role will also assist in the administration and management of those systems in ensuring the continued support of business operations.
In this role you will work closely with the Chief Financial Office Division, IT, and other business areas in conducting needs analysis and identifying opportunities for improvement to ensure statutory requirements and best practices are met across the City’s use of FINANCIAL SYSTEMS. Responsibility includes the gathering of requirements, developing a scope, concept development, and design before delivering and implementing the solution to a high quality and agreed standard.
Key responsibilities:
successful management and delivery of FINANCIAL SYSTEMS PROJECTs for approved solutions within agreed timeframes, budget, and quality. This includes development of effective documentation of requirements, solution design, migration, and training material
perform business needs analysis, consultation, development, automation and testing of user requirements for works and upgrades relating to the suite of applications managed
deliver training and support across the organisation to improve user knowledge, utilisation, and ensure the effective and efficient use of FINANCIAL SYSTEMS
research, develop, and promote effective and efficient business solutions to ensure industry best practice
represent the team as the subject matter expert to ensure practical, appropriate and results oriented advice and solutions are provided for new projects and upgrades.
To be successful in this role you will possess:
appropriate degree level tertiary qualifications in accounting or business
experience in delivery of system projects of varying duration and complexity including research, development, implementation, change management, and post go-live support
experience in support of corporate accounting systems, business planning systems, or other ERP including integration, upgrades, data management, and controls
strong competence in maintaining and reconciling complex data sets for reporting and decision making including the ability to develop data models, reports, data flows, and integration specifications.
