Mid-Western Region Council has an exciting
opportunity for a full-time Fleet Technical Assistant!
This position will work with and support the Workshop and Fleet Coordinator
to ensure the efficient and effective administration of the workshop and to act
as the initial point of contact for customer enquiries.
Key Accountabilities
- To
work effectively as part of the Fleet team providing technical and
administrative assistance in the delivery of fleet projects and programs, and
provide support to the Workshop and Fleet Coordinator to achieve Council’s
objectives. - Maintain
and coordinate the scheduling of Council’s fleet maintenance and repair
requirements. - Coordinate
Council’s annual registration process and inspection booking with the RMS, being
RMS signatory. - Coordinate
insurance claims and repairs relating to Council’s fleet. - Support
Council’s workshop staff with parts interpretation and supply requirements. - Assist
with Council’s Fleet replacement as requested including request for quote processes - Assist
in warranty claim investigations and reporting. - Assist
in the disposal of fleet assets as required. - Assist
in the development, implementation and monitoring of workshop safety
procedures. - Supply
Fleet utilisation information as requested - Provide
effective and efficient administration of Council’s Asset and other Fleet
Management systems and Enterprise Resource Planning system. - Raise/authorise
purchase requisitions within financial delegation (of position) in accordance
with Council’s relevant policies and procedures. - Provide
high quality communication and customer service levels, and act as the first
point of contact for customer enquiries (internal & external).
To be successful in this role you will have
- Business
(Office Administration) Certificate III or equivalent workshop/fleet experience. - High
level proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of applications. - High
level of interpersonal skills and an ability to work with a wide range of
people. - Basic
asset data collection skills. - Advanced
ability to interpret comprehensive documents (Policy, Registration and
insurance). - Ability
to keep written records accurately, write correspondence, memos to crew and
prepare schedules. - Proven
ability to work in a team environment and to work unsupervised.
The salary range being offered for the position of Fleet Technical Assistant is $2544 - $2863 per fortnight (dependent on skills, qualifications
and experience) plus superannuation, an RDO every four weeks and
long service leave after 5 years.
