I currently have an excellent opportunity with a very reputable national consultancy based in Melbourne. Given they have a huge presence in Australia, they need to add another Flood Modeller to the team. A consultancy that truly looks after its people, with a service offering to clients that is second to none.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical delivery of hydrologic studies and hydraulic analysis associated with surface water management and flooding including flood modelling, mapping and report writing.
- Hydraulic design of waterway infrastructure such as bridges, culverts, levees, diversion drains etc and scour protection measures.
- TUFLOW Surface water flood modelling and management
- Stormwater quality and quantity management
- Developing civil designs to manage complex surface water scenarios.
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil/Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science.
- 3- 5 years’ experience in TUFLOW Modelling, flood assessments, hydrology and hydraulic modelling in consulting practices in Australia
- Competent modeller with the ability to develop and review complex hydrology and hydraulic models.
- Experience in undertaking hydrology assessments including a technical understanding of the principles and approaches of Australian Rainfall and Runoff 2019, regional and local procedures.
- Practical experience in cross-drainage design, flood mitigation and management for major engineering projects in Australia.
- Advanced understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic modelling packages, such as RORB, XP-RAFTS, WBNM, URBS, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, and their advantages and limitations. Experience using 12d and DRAINS will also be highly considered.
