We are looking for a Food Safety and Quality Coordinator to join the Thomastown team for a (12 Month Maternity Leave cover) reporting to the site Food Safety and Quality Manager.
The following experiences are required:
An in-depth understanding of HACCP, GMP, Animal Welfare and Quality Management Systems with the ability to implement programs and training to drive sustainable improvements.
Experience in leading a Food safety and Quality Assurance team and strong understanding of Food Safety Culture.
A demonstrated experience making sound risk management decisions.
Proficient in speaking and writing English.
Food Science Degree or equivalent qualification is desirable.
Roles and responsibilities include:
- Through day to day tasks and coordination activities you will provide assurance that site Food Safety, quality, compliance and culture are continuously met with respect to legislation, customer standards and internal quality systems.
- Ensure data is truthful, has integrity and is clear in its presentation as it relates to the above activities.
- Manage, lead and coach the Food Safety and Quality team to support and influence across the site.
- Promote lead and influence alongside the rest of the technical team a strong Food Safety culture onsite with full implementation of all corporate expectations.
- Assess and communicate and where necessary, escalate risks in Food Safety, quality and compliance.
- Continued minimisation and mitigation of risk through appropriate risk-based decision making and analysis.
- Ensure a working knowledge and implementation of the Quality Management System on a day to day basis.
- Help the team ensure Quality standards, parameters and specifications for all products produced by the Company are provided to production staff and that verification is conducted.
- Assist as required by FSQM (Food Safety and Quality Manager with onsite visits with suppliers and major customers.
- Be an auditee as required by FSQM for site audits.
- Present information to various take holders as required as part of day to day and ad-hoc task.
- Coordinate and sign off on customer/consumer complaints and non-conformances as required by FSQM.
- Contribute to the internal audit and “review” programme ensuring the carryout out of this duty is robust and preventing and escalating risks.
- Contribute to Training (and induction) for the site to ensure sufficient knowledge across the business.
- Provide risk assessment in the event of any process deviations so good risk management decisions can be made using the tools available. Where authority allows as delegated by FSQM make Risk Management Decisions.
