Jasmin 1 Leichhardt, an established restaurant in Leichhardt, is looking for a qualified, talented and experienced Chef to join its kitchen team.
Requirements
To be successful for this position, you must have:
- Minimum 2 years experience
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or higher
- Passion and experience in preparing Mediterranean/Lebanese cuisine
- Strong time management and organisational skills including an ability to organise production schedules
- Knowledge of and ability to maintain Food Handling and Food Safety procedures
- Reliable form of transportation
- Good communication skills and an ability to promote a positive work environment
- Ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills, be a team player and work well under pressure
- Willing and able to work 38 hours per week
Tasks
- Supervise the preparation of all food including preparing various dishes/food items as per the menu
- Prepare daily production list
- Assist the Head Chef on a daily basis
- Managing kitchen stocks including planning the menu, estimating food cost, ordering food supplies, placing food and supplies orders as directed and, receiving and checking stock to ensure suitable for use
- Oversee and supervise kitchen staff including guiding and giving direction to other kitchen staff
- Ensure all recipes, food preparations and presentations meet the business specification and commitment to quality
- Ensure that all station remain stocked before and during the working period
- Ensure all staff follow recipes and portion servings correctly
- Ensuring proper sanitisation of working stations, storage area and entire kitchen area
- Train kitchen staff and junior staff
- Organise kitchen meeting to discuss various problem and provide solutions
- Managing staff level in the kitchen area
Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 per annum
