Sahara by The Park is a restaurant in located in Burwood serving tradition of authentic Gourmet Turkish cuisine and gym packs to our valuable clients. We are a well-established Turkish restaurant and cater for our clients dine-in and takeaway needs including hosting functions. We aim to create original Turkish dishes.
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Chef to join our dynamic team. The candidate is required to work closely with other kitchen members and report directly to the Head chef/Manager/Director. The responsibilities for the role include but not limited to the following:
- Working with the Head Chef/Manager in creation of menus, prepare and supervise production of approved menus.
· To have total accountability for the day to day running of the kitchen service
· To actively participate in the ongoing management and development of menus and ensure menus are costed accurately.
· Ensure all food is prepared as per food preparation requirements.
· Ensure meals are produced on time, and enough are available for the various areas.
· Be available for functions as they arise to ensure that the food is prepared and served as required.
· Ensure wastage is minimized by careful supervision of food preparation methods.
· Overall responsibility for the delivery of quality food to the customers.
· Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality.
· Ensure strict compliance to company procedures and requirements.
· To participate in the HACCP procedure according to the company’s Food Safety Management document.
· To ensure quality control measures and hygiene systems are always achieved.
· Working as a team, with other members to ensure quality service is provided.
· Train new staff skills they require to perform their roles to the required standard
About the applicant:
· Hold at least certificate IV in cookery (preferable)
· At least three years’ experience in a fast-paced environment
· Be focused on producing high quality food and a commitment to the provision of service excellence.
· Have good communication and organisational skills.
- Be able to work in a high-volume environment.
- Hold a current food hygiene and safety certificate.
- Have creativity and be able to bring new ideas and energy to our team.
- Have the drive to develop your own skills and career.
Other details:
Job Type: Full Time, permanent
Salary: AUD 70,000 per year plus superannuation
