Sonoma Baking Company is Australia's leading scaled artisan bakery.
We are looking for a FULL TIME Pastry Chef to join our pastry team, working under the guidance of Executive Pastry Chef Alejandro Luna.
The opportunity on offer is Full Time, with shifts five days pw - Mornings 6am to 2pm or Afternoons 2pm - 10pm.
Use your passion for pastry and your desire to collaborate, learn and grow with some of the best people in the industry while you work at our purpose-built state of the art baking facility located in Alexandria.
YOU:
- Passion for pastry making
- Understanding of pastry and viennoiserie making including weighing, mixing dough, laminating and be keen to learn and be trained in all aspects of Sonoma pastry
- Ability to use dough sheeter efficiently to created perfectly laminated dough
- Experience proofing and baking
- Understanding of pastry theory and techniques
- Ability to work in a team of PASTRY CHEFs and apprentices
- Ability to work with a fast paced team without compromise on quality or consistency
- Ability to work unsupervised or in a team
- Initiative and highly motivated
- Perform proper and safe operation of bakery equipment and utensils
- Clear understanding of HACCP and OHS/WHS
- Punctual and well presented
- Excellent communication skills
- Full working rights in Australia, WHV, temp visa etc
