Full-time Medical Receptionist - Cardiology
About the business and the role
We are looking for an experienced, mature minded and highly motivated Medical Receptionist to join our team. The role will require you to work onsite with the support of a great team environment. The successful candidate would thrive in patient and customer care based environments. The ability to work well under pressure is a must.
Job tasks and responsibilities
- Provide superior, friendly and efficient patient care
- Assist in the day to day administrative operations of the clinic
- Answer and respond to all phone enquiries
- Manage patient appointments for consultations and tests
- Provide ongoing support to all staff and specialist doctors
- Managing of claims to Medicare / DVA, and all private billings
- Attend to all other general daily administration duties
- Handling of sensitive and confidential materials
- Monitor and maintain the presentation of the practice at all times
- Assisting with the fitting of Holter Monitors, Blood Pressure Monitors and ECGs
Skills and experience
- Outstanding communication, telephone and customer service/patient care skills
- Ability to multi-task and meet non-negotiable deadlines in an autonomous capacity
- Strong data entry skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Experience working within a busy and constantly changing environment
- Excellent time management skills to set own priorities, plan and organise own work
- One year minimum experience as a Medical Receptionist in a similar environment; experience in Specialist rooms highly advantageous
- Experience liaising with doctors, staff and allied health professionals and patients on a daily basis
- Prior experience with Genie software or similar medical billing software with strong computer skills
- Experience with all Medicare related billings
- Flexibility in working hours/shifts and reliability, with availability to work weekends - if required.
