Robert Half Executive Search has exclusively partnered with a leading wholesaler, importer and manufacturer of market leading industrial and agricultural products. Providing essential products to both the domestic and commercial markets, this previously privately organisation has been in operation for over 40 years and recently has been acquired by a global infrastructure leader.
As a result, they require the expertise of a commercially astute, and operationally hands on General Manager, to lead the sales, and warehousing division of the organisation, with a focus on expanding the company's geographic footprint and growing its presence in key agriculture markets.
This role can be based in either Perth or Adelaide.
The Role
Reporting to the Regional Vice President Asia Pacific, with the remit of building best in class practices, the General Manager will develop and execute a strategy of standardisation across systems and process for multiple operational sites. There is significant opportunity to drive new business opportunities, based on exceptional foundations of a highly respected and well-established brand.
Key responsibilities include :
- Define commercial strategy to grow the organisation with a focus on Finance, Operations, Sales and Distribution
- Have an ability to work across a significant number of SKUs and multisite manufacturing and distribution locations
- Build robust commercial relationship with key suppliers and customer base broadening geography and industry
- Define internal strategy to standardise systems and processes across a multisite operation with locations across Australia
- Support and lead a highly tenured and successful team through a recent transition, with a focus on developing increased cross divisional communication
Your Profile
You are a successful and established leader within the hydrology or commodities sector, with the capacity to work autonomously and the confidence to drive change and own your decisions.
You have significant leadership experience in Distribution and Multisite operations and bring strong financial acumen with the capability to run a P&L and balance sheets.
In addition you will bring relevant experience as below:
- Development of successful business plans, through 'best in class' practices
- with a move away from transactional approach to a focus on sustainable growth
- Extensive leadership in running multi-site operations
- Leading a tenured team, you bring high levels of EQ, are approachable and transparent, building rapport across all levels and driving support of your strategic plan
- Build strong lines of communication and collaboration across geographic sites and cross functionally
- Bring exceptional project management and Power BI skills to define business strategy and execute prioritisations
- You engage your team, based on sound listening skills to ensure a progressive approach, as the organisation adapts to being part of a large global organisation
- You have strong coaching and mentoring capability to engage and activate a stable, and long tenured team to your strategic plan.
- Demonstrated capability of building high achieving teams, identifying and providing development opportunities for top performers
Experience in agriculture or aligned industries such construction, distribution & supply, forestry, pumps or an allied industry is valued.
Travel will be required, initially monthly then quarterly.
