General Manager - Hidden Vale Adventure Park
Company Overview:
Hidden Vale Adventure Park aims to be SEQ’s premier mountain bike park destination committed to providing exhilarating outdoor experiences for riders of all skill levels. Located in Grandchester, an hour’s drive west of Brisbane and 30 mins from Ipswich, our park offers a range of trails, amenities, and events, making it a must-visit destination for mountain biking enthusiasts. Operations are closely aligned with Spicers Hiddenvale retreat which is next door and environmental conservation efforts on the property, all under the same ownership.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic General Manager with proven achievement to lead the operations of our mountain bike park. The General Manager will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, team leadership, exceptional guest experiences, driving business growth, and fostering engagement within the mountain biking community. Reporting to the Turner Collective CEO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Whole of business ownership: Full financial & strategic responsibility. A profit share arrangement will allow you to be well rewarded for running a profitable business.
- Operations Management: Oversee all aspects of park operations, including trail maintenance, facility upkeep, equipment management, and safety protocols.
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of 4-6 employees, including trail builders, customer service, mechanics and maintenance staff.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, track expenses, and implement strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
- Marketing and Promotion: Drive set marketing initiatives (including but not limited to social media, events and local-area marketing) to attract visitors and increase park visibility.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, permits, and safety standards, including those related to environmental conservation and land use.
- Events Management: Plan, coordinate, and oversee events and competitions held at the park, including races, festivals, and special promotions. Work closely with event organisers, sponsors, and vendors to ensure successful and memorable events.
Experience needed:
- Proven achievements and persistence over time in any previous role
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, team members, and stakeholders.
- Proven track record of driving business growth and achieving financial targets.
- Passion for the mountain biking and/or outdoor recreation industry is highly desirable.
- Ability to work full-time hours, including most weekends and holidays, as needed.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary package. Total package $100k pa + Super
- Earn up to $150k pa + Super.
- $85k + Super base salary + incentives capped at $65k pa + Super
