About Zinc Assets Australia:

Our Zinc Assets in Australia comprise the Mount Isa underground copper and zinc mines, processing, smelting, refining and port facilities together with the McArthur River open cut zinc/lead mine, processing, and port facilities. Globally the Zinc business has operations across Asia, both American continents and Europe. Brisbane is home to our corporate office which is where this role is based.

The Role

The General Manager Finance is a senior leader in the business reporting to the Chief Financial Officer for Zinc Assets Australia. To be effective you will lead a team of finance professionals setting and achieving expected standards in financial management and reporting performance. This senior leadership role is accountable for developing and implementing strategies and policies for the finance team that will support Glencore’s Australian Zinc business achieve its business strategy.

Functional responsibilities include ensuring there is integrity and accuracy in reporting as well a structured approach to financial, accounting, regulatory requirements, risk, compliance, audit process, life of asset planning, annual budgeting, and financial modelling. In addition, you will lead financial and management accounting as well as commercial measurement and reporting. Maintaining close working relationships with site management teams together with tax, treasury and other corporate functions you will seek creative opportunities to ensure that the organisation is utilising its financial resources effectively and efficiently.

Key Requirements

The position requires you to be degree qualified in business or finance as well as a strong knowledge of Australian and International Accounting standards.

With experience gained in a large organisation working either in a similar role or as head of finance you must be a CA/CPA qualified finance subject matter expert with excellent financial acumen. You will be a professional with a demonstrated track record of driving change, creating enhanced value in a dynamic business environment and be effective in leading an engaged team to deliver quality outcomes. Extensive knowledge of the mining and minerals processing industry is an advantage.
