About the General Manager, Intermodal Role:
As the General Manager, you will be responsible for leadership and development of all matters pertaining to Intermodal solutions across Queensland. A key member of the SLT, you'll work collaboratively, contributing to performance of everything operations and service delivery related (for the QLD intermodal network).
You'll develop and implement strategies that will contribute to optimising cost efficiencies, overseeing budgets, developing and executing growth focused initiatives, whilst at the same time increasing standards associated with the health and safety of our valued employees. You will also be tasked with leading our transformation strategies, whilst ensuring we maintain and increase capabilities of existing and future team members.
What you'll do as the General Manager (including/not limited to):

- People Leadership and Coaching
- Customer Experience
- Operational Excellence
What you'll bring to the General Manager role:
- 7+ years experience performing a similar role, as described above
- Essential that you have significant experience within rail and/or linehaul
- Exceptional record pertaining to health & safety improvement initiatives
- Ability to influence and lead cross functionally, i.e. sales, marketing, finance etc.
- Strong Interface & negotiation skills
- Competence reviewing and reporting on monthly targets across the BU
- Leadership of large/complex/diverse teams and locations
- Tertiary qualification preferred, business/logistics
- Strong understanding of workforce operations and productivity best practice, co-ordinating multiple teams based on different sites and different modalities (truck, rail, ship)
- Solid understanding of operations, including management of facilities (depots, PUD, linehaul)
- Industrial relations expertise
- Detail orientated, compliance with all legislative frameworks within TGE
