About the Role
Reporting directly to the CEO of JBS Australia, the position of General Manager - Livestock, Northern Operations is responsible for a number of key focus areas including:
- Leading the Northern Livestock function to ensure consistent supply of cattle to our northern processing facilities and feedlots;
- Working collaboratively with operations, sales, and finance to ensure the ongoing profitability and success of the business regarding the market and business opportunities; &
- Setting the strategic direction regarding the livestock purchased for both processing and feedlots.
You will achieve this by undertaking the following key responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing the Livestock strategy for the Northern business
- Leading and engaging a geographically dispersed Livestock team to ensure team engagement and targets are achieved
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including key industry bodies
- Assessing and implementing strategies connected to a rapidly changing beef industry, including data driven analytics and sustainability
- Collaborating with the Southern Livestock team to ensure consistency across the business
- Undertaking travel as required to engage with team members, suppliers and other industry members
- Providing technical livestock expertise to the team and the business
- Providing livestock market forecasts and reports as required
About You
- Experienced senior leader with a demonstrated ability to effectively lead change, influence and engage a large team
- Demonstrated extensive livestock knowledge gained from experience within the beef production and cattle industry
- Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain key relationships
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Demonstrated computer literacy in MS Excel, Word and Outlook
- Energetic, passionate and enthusiastic with a demonstrated focus on system improvement
