About the Role
Our well-established Toronto Private Hospital incorporates 70 Rehab, Palliative and Medical beds and 35 Mental Health beds across three inpatient units, as well as being equipped with a hydrotherapy pool and gymnasium. Located in the Greater Newcastle area, we are seeking a visionary General Manager who will be well versed in the Mental Health and Rehabilitation space, and who will be responsible for attracting and engaging a high performing skilled workforce, positively engaging our valued medical specialists and driving the operational objectives and targets outlined in the hospital's strategic plan.
About You
Our ideal candidate will be a creative thinker with strong commercial acumen and substantial experience in hospital management at an executive level, ideally running Mental Health and/or Rehabilitation hospitals. You will hold a Health, Business, or Management tertiary qualification, and have a strong knowledge of private health sector regulations and requirements including WHS, clinical and quality legislation and frameworks.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer of Aurora Healthcare, you will collaborate with the Hospital Executive team to craft and execute the hospital's strategic vision. Your role involves ensuring seamless alignment between business unit plans and the overarching hospital strategy, delivering top-tier services to our patients and internal stakeholders, including VMOs.
Your accountability will revolve around maintaining high-quality, efficient services while overseeing hospital performance. You will evaluate the success of the strategic business plan and budget outcomes, making critical decisions on major initiatives like capital expenditure and core business changes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure service delivery of high-quality patient care whilst maintaining clinical governance and hospital regulatory compliance standards
- Lead the hospital team by connecting them with the Aurora vision and promoting a collaborative culture
- Drive revenue growth through development and implementation of marketing and business development strategies and seeking out strategic service development opportunities
- Build strong stakeholder and community engagement relationships that will enable strategic partnerships to accelerate growth
- Attract, recruit and maintain a pool of highly skilled and qualified Medical Specialists/VMO’s to meet the needs of the hospital
- Establish and maintain strong and mutually beneficial relationships will all key stakeholders, including VMO’s, referrers and community partners.
