GIS Officer
Ecology and Heritage Partners is aprofessional ecological and cultural heritage consultancy providing high quality technicalservices in the field of ecological assessment, cultural heritage assessment,research and management. The business provides effective and innovativeterrestrial flora and fauna advice and cultural heritage advice to a range ofstate and local government authorities/agencies, corporate and private clients,and selected non-government organisations. We have offices in Melbourne,Geelong, Canberra, Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide.
We are seeking to appoint a motivated andenthusiastic individual who wishes to utilise and develop their experience andskills as a GIS Officer and join our team of GIS professionals.
This Full-time (5 days per week) position will bebased in our Melbourne office on a permanent basis.
The successful applicant will undertake GIS workwith map production and ESRI platform support being the key aspects of theposition, and will provide support to our dedicated team of professionals.

Qualifications/Experience/Skills
· Relevant tertiary degree(e.g. GIS, Geoscience) or other GIS specific qualification.
· Proficiency in industrystandard GIS Tools such as ESRI ArcGIS ArcMap10.8 and ArcPro is essential.
· Experience with ArcGISOnline with its applications suite, Field Maps Designer and application is amust.
· Experience with ArcPad10.2and other GPS technologies for data acquisition.
· Assist with fieldworkremote support for all GPS queries, Trimble and Field Maps.
· Knowledge of QGIS softwareand plugins.
· Experience with dataanalysis, interpolation using the Ordinary Kriging, Digital Elevation Model(DEM) interpretation for landforms and geomorphology.
· Experience with Satelliteimage analysis and interpretation.
· Provide training andguidance to GIS users.
· Collaborate with new datasystems and processes and identifying opportunities to enhance GIS, data andinformation management systems.
· Support GIS assetmanagement.
· Thorough understanding of spatialdata and its management as well as a good understanding and appreciation ofcartography and good map design.
· High level oforganisational skills.
· Good time managementskills, including the ability to work under pressure and to timelines.
· Ability to work to highlevel of accuracy and quality expectations.
· General computer skillswith proficiency in specific technical applications.
· Knowledge of other GISsoftware and related technologies is an advantage.
Key Priorities
· Undertake GISwork; the primary task being map preparation supported by additional GISactivities including data manipulation and analysis, fieldtemplate preparation, aerial photograph interpretation.
· Contribute to themaintenance of the Company’s GIS system.
· Contribute to the on-goingdevelopment of the Company’s GIS capabilities.
· Contribute to thedevelopment of GIS and other technology tools that add value to the servicesprovided by the Company.
· Save and store data insystematic way.
