GIS Officer

As the successful applicant, you will provide mapping and GIS solutions to a wide variety of business operations and land administration processes. The purpose of this role is to enable Surveyor-General Victoria to support major government land reform projects and related business dealings.
The role requires working knowledge of GIS software platforms including ESRI's ArcGIS for Desktop, ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise in the areas of spatial data management and processing in general and raster data analysis in particular. The GIS Officer will collaborate with various stakeholders, including government agencies, land surveyors, and other business units within LUV to ensure accurate and up-to-date spatial information for effective crown land governance.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
* Advanced use of ESRI product, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online, with an understanding of their functionalities, capabilities, and integrations.
* Hands on knowledge of working with various raster datasets including high-resolution aerial imagery, remote sensing, LiDAR, Digital Elevation Models/Digital Surface Models and in-depth knowledge of raster data processing solutions and workflows.
* Experience using CAD software platforms, ETL platforms, and Microsoft SharePoint and Office 365
* Programming and customisation of ESRI ArcGIS software and familiarity with other GIS software packages such as QGIS and Global Mapper would be an advantage.
* Degree in Geomatics, Surveying or similar tertiary qualification
This is a part time (0.6FTE), fixed term position available for a period of 12 months. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria.
