The Role
An exciting opportunity now exist within Apache’s Attack Helicopter System Program Office (AHSPO) for an APS 5 Governance Officer.
In this role, you will be working as part of dynamic and cohesive Business Management team within an integrated workforce. You will provide high level support and advice to the Apache’s program management and its associated governance activities, by undertaking research and analysis, conducting reviews and preparing reports for program governance requirements in compliance with Defence policy requirements. You will coordinate the development and implementation of the program’s Governance Framework and ensure it’s monitored, reviewed and updated.
You will also provide support, management and oversight of program Risks, Issues, and WHS whilst developing strong and cooperative working relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate effective, consistent and structured program governance processes which support the achievement of the program’s goals and objectives.
About our Team
The APS 5 Governance Officer position will be an integral part of both the Attack Helicopter Project Office (AHPO) and Systems Program Office (AHSPO). The new Apache capability is designed to support the future Joint Force, to fight and win the joint land battle. As the Attack Helicopter project is an emerging capability, the team, which comprises of ADF, APS and Contractor staff, is presently small, and growing quickly.
The Team is currently split between Canberra and Brisbane, with the APS 5 Governance Officer role to be based in Brisbane. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-value, advanced Defence capabilities, whilst being rewarded with a professional, inclusive and supportive team.
Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will have experience working within a Program Governance related role, with the ability to monitor, manage and report on Program Risks, Issues and WHS compliance, in accordance with relevant legislation, regulatory frameworks, policies and procedures appropriate to the complexity of the Program.
To be successful in this role, you will have highly developed organisational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to communicate and liaise with a range of technical and non-technical audiences to convey messages and influence outcomes. The successful candidate will be proactive, assertive and flexible, with the ability to be work autonomously and solve complex problems in a new evolving fast-paced environment.
