Your opportunity:
We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Accountant as part of the Perth based Finance Team, this role supports the financial sustainability of the IBN Group by assisting in the end-to-end account management and reporting of the organisation's accounts payable, processing of accounts receivable, processing of bank statements and credit cards. IBN is currently in the process of developing and implementing Netsuite and Employment Hero as an ERP and Payroll HR solution, moving away from MYOB (exo).
Core responsibilities of this role include and are not limited:
- Manage the fixed asset register together with all new asset applications and disposals. This includes asset counts.
- Assists in month-end procedures, preparing management reports, maintaining reconciliations, assisting in the establishment of internal controls.
- Assist with FBT preparation and lodgements.
- Assist in preparing BAS returns.
- Review employee expense claims for allocations and payment.
- Balance sheet reconciliation.
- General ledger reconciliations.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets & quarterly forecasts.
- Group subsidiary company accounts and reconciliations.
- Processing of subsidiary company invoicing and collection.
- Variance analysis reporting.
- Maintain the monthly accruals and prepayments.
- Generate monthly management reports for analysis.
- Review monthly trading results and establish reasons for material variances.
- Error correction and re-submission of results where necessary.
Year End procedures:
- Liaise with Company auditors with regards to reconciliations and supporting documentation.
- Review year-end checklist to confirm all tasks complete.
- Assist with the year-end close and arrange for all staff to assist in closing.
Other:
- Assist with statutory reporting.
- Assist with the establishment of internal controls.
- Identify weaknesses in internal controls for correction or adjustment.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with all other departments to reduce conflict and maximise Member outcomes.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of WHS and risk management initiatives and practices in the workplace.
- Attend any training as requested by management to maintain and improve business knowledge.
The Requirements:
- 2+ years of working experience
- Degree in Accounting or Similar (or in final year will be considered)
- CFO is a CPA Mentor and will support a successful candidate to achieve CPA Qualification or similar
- Excellent communication skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong numeracy skills
- Computer literate with demonstrable intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Solid organisational, interpersonal, analytical and communication skills
- An ability to problems solve, and Process Ownership.
- Excellent time management skills and a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people
- Experience working with Aboriginal people, Aboriginal Corporations and an understanding of Australian culture would be highly regarded
