Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution
Commencing as soon as possible but recognising you may be in your last semester, this is a rare opportunity for law graduates who are committed to working in commercial litigation and dispute resolution to join us.
What can you expect in the role?
- Becoming part of a successful and ambitious team acknowledged globally for dispute resolution (amongst only a small number from an independent standalone firm);
- Providing vital support to senior team members in the day-to-day management of commercial litigation cases and related dispute advisory matters;
- Supervision and encouragement from highly regarded partners and team members with a track record of developing excellent lawyers;
- Invaluable hands-on experience working on client matters honing your skills through preparing technical advices, drafting court documents and independently managing smaller litigation cases.
To be successfulin this role, you will need:
- Demonstrated passion and interest in dispute resolution;
- Strong technical skills and ability;
- Outstanding written and interpersonal communication skills;
- A commercial/law or business/law degree with a GPA of 5.5 or greater;
- An ability to tackle complex legal and commercial issues;
- High work ethic and ability to work under pressure;
- An ability to quickly develop a rapport with team members and clients; and
- Excellent client service, demonstrated analytical skills with a practical and commercial approach.
Lead by Chambers Asia Pacific and Chambers Global ranked Dispute Resolution partner Rocco Russo, Cooper Grace Ward’s commercial dispute resolution team is an agile tight-knit team that works on business disputes, business projects and commercial litigation of all types. The team is known for its work ethic and ability to produce legal work that is technically excellent, clear, practical and, most importantly, ‘solutions orientated’.
You will assist partners and more senior lawyers with legal research and other preparatory dispute resolution work. The team has a track record of giving early career legal professionals the opportunity to quickly progress to higher levels of challenge and responsibility when they demonstrate the ability to do so.
