Join our team as Groundskeeper on a permanent part-time basis working across two venues, The Gibson - Stafford and Gallopers - Ascot which are both an extension of the Brisbane Racing Club.
The Groundskeeper reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible to ensure all club facilities and gardens are maintained, paying extra attention to playing fields, lawns, gardens and the building.
Being a new site and position, you can make this your own, build your own schedules and really make a mark.
This will be a permanent part time position working a minimum of 20 hours per week, and we will require you to have the flexibility to increase hours as required.
A few of your responsibilities will include:
- Perform general green keeping duties including, but not limited to, gardens (pruning), watering, lawn mowing, line marking, weed spraying, turf laying and fertilising
- Create and maintain a schedule for major servicing and repairs as well as performing basic servicing and repairs on specific tools including but not limited to lawn mowers, brush cutters, chainsaws and whipper snippers
- Maintain the Clubs facilities including sports change room, car parks and basic building, plumbing, rubbish collection and disposal
What we are looking for:
- You will have completed a Certificate III Horticulture and have a license to spray pesticides
- Current LF Forklift license and valid QLD driver’s license
- Ability to work independently, manage your own time and prioritising your work
- A ‘can do’, solutions focused attitude
About you:
You will bring a wealth of knowledge and skills from having worked in a similar environment, any experience with bowls clubs will be highly desirable. You will hold yourself and workmanship to high standards ensuring The Gibson is always well maintained and presentable.
