The successful applicant will be instrumental in working within the management team to drive our lean ideology with the aim of making Hickinbotham one of Australia’s leanest businesses.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join our highly regarded executive team in a stimulating environment. This key leadership role would suit a high-calibre individual with excellent people skills and a pragmatic "can-do" approach.
The CFO is instrumental in providing sound financial planning, modelling, and management, increasing the Group’s ability to anticipate business issues and drive good decision-making. The CFO will work closely with the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer (COO) in setting strategic objectives for the Group.
For the right person the opportunity exists to drive and lead business units within the Group as part of the role.
Your primary responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic financial leadership, actively contributing to strategic decision-making and providing valuable insights and guidance to shape the Group’s future direction
- Working with the Managing Director and COO to ensure the achievement of the strategic business plan
- Developing the credibility of the finance department by providing timely and accurate financial insights, analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends to enable the executive team to make the best financial and commercial decisions in line with Group strategy
- Forecasting, developing, organising, implementing, directing and evaluating the Group’s fiscal function and performance
- Taking a lead role in bringing operational excellence to the team.
- Assisting with the delivery of the Group's financial performance
- Maximising financial performance and managing and mitigating business and project risk
- Leading the finance department, both in terms of day-to-day people management as well as setting the department’s strategy and growth plans in line with the overall company goals
- Leading commercial negotiations on key projects
- A track record of success working with and adding value to quality organisations
- At least qualified as a CA or CPA or equivalent
- A minimum of ten years in a CFO role
- Strong business acumen and drive to achieve commercial outcomes
