The Comiskey Group have rapidly expanded into the Sunshine Coast and are looking for a Head Chef for their new venue; The Imperial Hotel Eumundi and HOLA Boutique Accommodation.
The Imperial Hotel is Eumundi's iconic 112-year old pub across from Australia's largest open-air markets, the famous Eumundi Markets on the Sunshine Coast. Its Queenslander façade is well-recognised, surrounded by the quaint small town charm of Eumundi.
Featuring two restaurants, multiple bars, a distillery, a brewery home to Eumundi Brewery, a live band room, function spaces, 3 bottle shops and on-site 15-room boutique accommodation called HOLA.
The venue has just been welcomed into the Comiskey Group portfolio and is currently under renovation. The Imperial Hotel is rich in history and ready for an experienced Head Chef to showcase just how special it is, at an exciting time of the hotel's evolution.
ABOUT YOU:
The Imperial Hotel Eumundi is expanding our team and is looking for an experienced Head Chef to assist in the operation of our kitchen. This position has prospects for career development and the opportunity to learn and grow. Successful applicants will have a strong Food focus and lead their team during key service periods. Ensuring we deliver industry best service at all times. The role requires availability both day and night and weekend work.
This position demands a highly trained professional with a full knowledge of all aspects of kitchen operations. A comfortable ability to interact with diners and be able to work closely with the front of house team is essential. Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years in their current role, inclusive of 1-2 years working in a high volume diverse range of restaurant and catering options.

You must display a passion for fresh and seasonal produce and have flair and imagination, offering our guests a memorable dining experience.
Ideally you will have worked in a similar style venue, with a resume showing a stable work history. This is a hands-on role with the ideal person having the responsibilities of:
- Assisting in menu planning, implementation and execution.
- Controlling food preparation and managing wastage.
- Leading by example as a hands-on-chef with excellent quality assurance and standards.
- You will be enjoy being on tools and bringing our creations to life
- Assist in the development through innovative and original menu planning and maintenance of high food standards
- Establishing and maintaining effective employee working relationships at all times
- Bring your on-trend ideas, new dishes, new concepts and new menus to make our food offering the best.
- Encourage a positive learning and supportive team culture with a high degree of professionalism
- Develop and build strong relationships with various stakeholders
- Stock-taking and maintaining food cost control and budgeting
- Proven ability to manage food and wage costs
- Excellent Food Hygiene and Occupational Health & Safety standards
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- A quick-thinking ability to be able to perform numerous tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to take on new ideas and think “outside of the box”
