- Ensuring consistency through training and systems
- Providing world class dining experience and interacting with guests
- Creating high end food that is on point with the direction set by the owners
- Making sure that the kitchen hits labor and food targets
- Hands-on running of the kitchen, it’s a Mid size team so it is a totally hands on role.
- The ability to work with the owners of developing the business
- Maintaining and cohesive and inclusive relationship with front of house with minimal fuss (aggressive behaviour is not tolerated)
- This role would be perfectly suited to a single, adventure loving chef, looking for that next challenge. With an opportunity to be mentored by a Michelin starred chef, in one of the worlds most stunning locations!
There will be elements of reporting, costings etc but this can be taught if required.
Training is also a big part of this role, there are some great people in this kitchen but they do need training and development. As with most Expat roles in order to get the food to where you want to be training will be a very big part of your role.
You will also be involved in the big picture aspects of the restaurant working closely with the GM and owner Who are both from extensive hospitality backgrounds with very successful and well-known properties.
The Ideal Candidate
One of the 1st qualities the client mentioned was that they are ideally looking for a Chef coming from a strong upmarket restaurant background – the experience they are looking for is at a senior level Sous Chef and up in hatted or Michelin star background.
This is a ‘foodie’ opportunity, with a chance to really create something very exciting! The other side is a chef who is a calm and patient operator – there is no room for old school management styles – ie yelling and screaming. Someone who can patiently lead a team with language barriers and nurture them.
A unique opportunity to grow in your career and save a significant amount of money.
