Head Chef - Residential Aged Care

Goodwin Aged Care, the largest locally based not-for-profit Aged Care provider in the ACT, is seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chefto lead our dynamic teams in Residential Aged Care!

• Full-time position, Monday to Friday, with weekend work required.
• 76 hours per fortnight, including travel to all sites, including Batemans Bay.
• Hourly rate: $43/hour inclusive of superannuation

About the Role: In this role, you'll be the driving force behind crafting exquisite culinary experiences for our Residential Aged care residents and guests. As the Head Chef, you'll lead our team in curating A la carte offerings that exceed expectations for taste and presentation. From crafting delightful dishes to mentoring new team members, this role lets you blend your culinary passion with leadership for a fulfilling career.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and inspire our culinary team to maintain high standards of food presentation and preparation.
• Ensure compliance with Goodwin's HACCP processes to maintain food safety standards.
• Regularly update menus, paying special attention to the nutritional needs of older people.
• Knowledge of new IDDSI standards.

What You'll Need:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Head Chef or 5 years' experience as a Chef de Partie (CDP) or Sous Chef.
• Sound knowledge of menu planning and Food cost.
• Certification IV in Commercial Cookery, along with Food Safety Supervision.
• Experience working in Aged Care facilities is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of the Aged Care Act 1997 and experience in work health and safety are advantageous.
