Job description

As the Head Chef, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the culinary identity and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and innovation. You will have the opportunity to add your own personal touch a menu that celebrates locally sourced ingredients, highlighting the rich flavors of the region while embracing creativity and seasonality. With a focus on excellence, you will lead by example, inspiring your team to deliver exceptional dishes that delight the guests and elevate their dining experience. Must also have experience working with events & weddings.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a seasonal menu that reflects the essence of the region and showcases the bounty of local produce, including ingredients sourced directly from the vineyard.
  • Lead and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment conducive to creativity and growth.
  • Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation, ensuring adherence to quality and hygiene standards.
  • Manage inventory, control costs, and optimise kitchen efficiency without compromising on quality or guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with management to set and achieve financial targets, contributing to the overall success and profitability of the establishment.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, techniques, and best practices, continuously seeking opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Uphold a culture of excellence, professionalism, and teamwork, embodying the values and commitment to delivering an exceptional dining experience.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a reputable establishment, preferably with experience in fine dining or upscale casual dining environments.
  • Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, flavor profiles, and food trends, with a passion for utilising local and seasonal ingredients.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop a diverse team of culinary professionals.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence in every aspect of kitchen operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Previous experience working on weddings and events is ideal
  • Relevant culinary qualifications and certifications preferred.
