Head Chef/Sous Chef

Hunger Emergency is a new catering and last-mile delivery service food operation in Darlinghurst. We provide catering and last-mile morning and lunch meals from 6am 7days a week.We're currently seeking a Head/Sous Chef to join our team with the following responsibilities:- planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
- monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen staff
- demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
- preparing and cooking food
- explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
- may select and train staff
- may freeze and preserve foods
- ability to use and manage last-mile delivery apps such as Uber Eats.
- ability to use and manage catering apps such as Ordermentum and Food Storm
- ability to work independently and profitably given high demand of products.A requirement for the role is:AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) or at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above. In some instances relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification.Available Monday through Sunday from 5am.
