Maryborough State High School is seeking an enthusiastic educator to join their team as Head of Department - Mathematics, for a temporary full-time position commencing 15 April 2024 until 13 December 2024, unless otherwise determined.

As an Independent Public School, established in 1881, Maryborough State High School has approximately 1320 students and a wide range of subjects, with a number of University and Nationally Recognized Training links. The school has Academy Programs in Rowing, Hockey, Rugby 7s and Soccer. The school has consistently received multiple regional, state and national awards for excellence. The school's results are above State Mean for Senior completion and certification, and at or above State Mean in all NAPLAN areas.
About the Role:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for students and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
- Be futures oriented and strategic.
- Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling especially in relation to students and staff within the school department.
- Manage the human, financial, facilities, and curriculum resources of the school department to achieve goals.
