MAF's history reflects a strong commitment to serving some of the most remote and hard-to-reach communities in the world. MAF's 116 aircraft, provide vital transportation services to medical personnel, development workers, and aid organizations across the globe. The organization also delivers Bibles, church materials, and other resources to communities with limited access to Christian teaching and worship services.
Role Overview:
As a highly experienced and knowledgeable professional, you will have the responsibility of overseeing all maintenance activities and ensuring the safety and airworthiness of our fleet. Additionally, you will be a source of technical guidance and mentorship for the maintenance team. This role is crucial to our operations, and we are seeking an individual with a proven track record of success in leading teams, as well as a deep passion for aviation, people, and our mission.
Responsibilities
As the Head of Maintenance, you will be responsible for:
Managing the AMO (Australian Aircraft Maintenance Organisation) team, facilities, equipment, and stores to maximise the availability and reliability of our aircraftEnsuring compliance with organisational and regulatory procedures and standardsDeveloping and implementing strategic and tactical plans and budgets for the AMOFostering a generative safety culture and a customer-centric approach within the AMOProviding technical guidance and mentoring to the maintenance staffEngaging with the wider aviation industry to keep up with best practices and innovationsResourcing maintenance activity across all AMO locations in coordination with the Maintenance Planner and Maintenance Operations SupervisorsLeading workload review and planning to ensure sufficient personnel availability and deployment for maintenance tasks
Supporting the Technical Operations goal to maximise availability of aircraft for mission.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
ICAO Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Licence or Engineering Degree with relevant experienceThorough knowledge of company engineering procedures and applicable aviation regulationsAt least two years supervisory aircraft engineering experience with a proven ability to lead others with spiritual maturity, vision and exampleExcellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentEffective problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressurePassion for aviation and a commitment to safety
