The Role
Premcar is experiencing rapid growth and is currently seeking a Head of Operations & Planning.
The Head of Operations & Planning will be responsible for driving the provision of operational services and planning across Premcar’s growing business portfolio.
This will include leading a team which ensures our overall day to day is running effectively and efficiently, that changes to business practices are planned and communicated to affected areas and the role successfully executes strategic programs within Premcar’s business. You will have ownership of supplier arrangements, contractor management, customer proposals and the associated P&L management for this area.
Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, you will:
- Lead the Corporate Planning function ensuring mid-term plans are updated and aligned to annual business objectives
- Develop and implement a strong framework of reporting across the business to ensure business and team objectives are being meet, including operational and financial KPIs and SLAs
- Foster effective communication channels and feedback mechanisms, both internally and externally, including acting as an escalation point to resolve issues
- Consistently seek to optimise the internal processes used by your team to ensure operating efficiency
- Lead strong relationships with suppliers to improve the delivery of services to our business
- Review and negotiate quotes with suppliers for reactive works to ensure costs are contained while high service levels are achieved
- Proficiently manage all aspects of our contracts end to end including agreeing scope, negotiating terms and ensuring compliance with both the contract and the spirit of the arrangements
- Lead competitive tender processes to secure the optimal framework for the delivery of operational services
- Ensure your team is managing our contractors in relation to certifications, compliance with laws and applicable standards, as well as OH&S requirements, including managing audit processes to identify areas for improvement
- Drive continuous improvement by working closely with your team and our contractors to monitor performance indicators, as well as identify and execute opportunities for efficient and effective gains
- Define and own an R&M opex budget, capex spend, project finance and other financial instruments
- Supervise, coach and develop your team to foster a culture of excellence, ensuring individual and team growth
To be considered for the position, candidates will need to demonstrate:
- At least 10 years of Operations and corporate planning experience
- Automotive background preferred
- Tertiary qualifications (Business/Commerce preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- At least 10 years team leadership experience
