Rutherford Technology High School located respectfully on the traditional lands of the Wonnarua People, is a large comprehensive High School supporting students from West Maitland to Branxton. Positive Behaviour for Learning is a focus supporting all members of the school community to be respectful, responsible and committed to learning. Current enrolment is 1405 with 22% students Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and students from a variety of cultural backgrounds, some with English as a second language. Selection CriteriaApplicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,- Demonstrated success in teaching English (7 -12) with the ability to inspire the potential of all students.
- Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and effectively lead staff through curriculum reform to successfully embed high-quality teaching, learning and assessment practices resulting in improved student outcomes.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a proven capacity to dynamically work as a productive member of the executive team to lead, manage, and analyse data to implement whole-school improvement processes that support the school’s strategic directions.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse team, demonstrating capacity to collaboratively engage and motivate teachers to improve their practice and professional knowledge, and build a supportive culture of excellence within the team.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
