A bit about the role
In this role you will lead a collaborative process to develop, implement and evaluate Casey’s Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan (MPHWP) as required under the Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008. You will be responsible for building capabilities and understanding across a range of organisational functions in order to enhance integration of health and wellbeing objectives.
What you’ll deliver
- Manage the development and delivery of Casey’s MPHWP.
- Identify health and wellbeing challenges and contribute to innovative, sustainable, and evidence-based policy development.
- Identify and act on opportunities for collaboration and partnerships that align with organisational and Health Policy strategic directions.
- Contribute to evidence-based and outcome-focussed recommendations to senior management on policy positions.
- Drive an ambitious advocacy agenda that captures and communicates local health and wellbeing needs both internally and to other levels of government.
- Facilitation of briefings, workshops, and other meetings as required.
- Through leadership and example promote a Casey’s values of Dream Big, Empower Each Other and Make our Community Proud.
What you’ll bring
- Degree or higher in public health, health promotion, or other relevant discipline with several years of relevant experience; or higher formal qualifications with a shorter period of experience.
- Demonstrated experience in strategy or policy development, preferably with working knowledge of Local, State, and Federal policy and legislative contexts.
- Proven experience in building strategic relationships across internal and external stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
- Sound understanding of the social and commercial determinants of health and the associated planning levers that support improved health outcomes (some familiarity with urban planning will be highly regarded).
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check.
- A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
