HR ADMINISTRATOR
(Maternity Leave Cover)
Don Watson Transport is family owned and operated and is one of Australia's leading refrigerated logistics companies offering a diverse range of transport and refrigerated storage solutions. Based in the Bacchus Marsh area we are seeking to engage a highly skilled HR Administrator seeking to continue their career in Human Resource Management. Initially for a 6-month contract with opportunity for extension.
We are excited to provide this opportunity to join our team at Don Watson Transport. You will work alongside a friendly team of committed individuals. This role is pivotal in supporting the employee lifecycle of our 300+ staff.
To excel in this position, prior experience in a similar role is ideal. Experience in the Road Transport industry is highly advantageous. The drive to create continuous improvement across the function as well as a natural aptitude for first-class stakeholder engagement is essential.
Principal Tasks and Accountabilities
- Supporting initiatives throughout the employee lifecycle to enhance the attraction and retention of our human capital including end-to-end recruitment processes, inductions, employee reviews, and learning & development
- Manage and Administer Workcover Claims including liaison with Injured Workers, Line Managers, Medical Professionals, RTW Service Providers, and Insurers.
- Maintaining HR records, information, and databases to ensure the accuracy of human resource metrics
- Promoting, equality, health, and safety within DWT
- Ensuring that confidentiality with respect to all HR processes and information is always maintained
- Positively fostering and promoting a performance based and collaborative culture
To be successful in this role you will need to have;
- At least 2+ years experience in a Human Resource support position
- Strong IT Proficiency and understand the Microsoft Suite of Applications. (Experience with HR3, Biotime, and/or ReadyEmploy Functionality would be highly regarded)
- A strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organize your day/week to meet deadlines
- The care and diligence to follow things through to completion
- Solid communication skills - both oral & written
- Demonstrated your ability to retain confidential information (Critical)
- High quality communication and interpersonal skills
- A good knowledge of Payroll and Time and Attendance systems and processes.
- A demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Workplace Agreements, Common Law Contracts and Employment Law Legislation
- Previous experience in Road Transport Industry (would be advantageous)
