About the Role

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) manages the effective and efficient delivery of HR services to Marist180 employees, consistent with best practice and compliant with relevant policies and processes, including providing leadership, coaching, and mentoring. The HR Business Partner (HRBP)will be the trusted advisor for our people managers providing expert advice and support on a broad spectrum of HR activities including conduct and performance matters, employee relations, workers compensation, workforce planning, succession planning, talent management and change management. This is a generalist role and requires knowledge and experience in employee relations and managing grievance and discipline processes.

Primary accountabilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and/or participate in projects as agreed by the Director of Professional Standards and Workplace Relations.
  • Role model high standards of professional behaviour and ethics and ensure employee behaviour is consistent with the Code of Conduct, values and other policies and analyse and participate in organisational initiatives.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for people managers and help resolve sensitive and complex matters in a fair and ethical manner.
  • Foster and maintain positive working relationships with internal stakeholders (Directors and managers) and external organisations (eg. Unions, government departments, statutory agencies).
  • Provide timely and expert HR advice, coaching and support on all matters including performance management, employee relations, workers compensation, workforce planning, succession planning, talent management and change management.
  • Build leadership capability through empowerment coaching and develop strategies and help implement actions that enhance our people.
  • Facilitate effective workforce planning, identifying critical roles and skills gaps, ensuring robust succession planning is developed and implemented to meet Marist180’s talent strategies.  
  • Conduct workplace investigations in line with best practice and manage grievance and discipline processes.
  • Analyse trends and HR metrics to develop business solutions and inform policy.
  • Actively promote safety and wellbeing practices and proactively identify, address and escalate risks as appropriate.
  • Drive compliance with Marist180’s safety systems by assisting the WHS Consultant maintaining the WHS management system, as well as facilitating the timely reporting of injuries and illnesses, conducting incident investigations, coordinating risk assessments for WHS issues, supporting people leaders with general WHS matters, and case managing workers compensation claims.
  • As directed by the Director Professional Standards and Workplace Relations, undertake other related duties within the scope of this position.
  • Knowledge of child protection legislation is highly desirable.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualified in Human Resources or another related discipline.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a HR generalist, HR Advisor and/or Business Partnering role.
  • Experience in employee relations/industrial relations and sound understanding of industrial and employee relations theory, principles, policies and practices.
  • Experience working with HR information systems, ELMO is highly desirable.

Work Requirement:

  • Current National Criminal History Check.
  • Current Working with Children’s Check.
  • Valid NSW Drivers Licence
