Common Goal Consulting is a small boutique HR Consulting business, offering tailored and practical people solutions, HR advice and coaching to a range of small and medium businesses across the east coast of Australia. We work closely with CEOs, business leaders and HR leaders to shape their people goals and initiatives, drive organisational productivity and effectiveness, and navigate the complex employment landscape.
We have an exciting opportunity for a HR Consultant/HR Partner to join our small Brisbane-based team in a part-time capacity (approx 15-20 hours per week). Ideally, these hours would be worked across a minimum of 3-4 days in any week, school hours are fine. Occasional visits to client premises will be required, mainly in the SEQ region.
About The RoleThis role will be largely supporting the Lead HR Consultant with consulting deliverables, as well as liaising directly with clients for general enquiries, advice and project delivery.
It is responsible for the following core activities:
- Supporting ER matters for our clients, including performance management, workplace investigations, mediations, discipline and grievance handling, rostering and remuneration, change management, restructures and redundancies, as well as interpreting and advising on employment law, Modern Awards, and employment agreements.
- Developing and updating HR policies and procedures, employment contracts and drafting a range of tailored HR documentation.
- Conducting end-to-end recruitment activities for clients, such as drafting position descriptions, shortlisting, interviewing, and reference checking.
- Developing HR frameworks, in consultation with the Lead HR Consultant and client, for people pillars such as performance, career development, recruitment, retention, capability, onboarding and other initiatives.
- Conducting and preparing results of HR reviews and audits.
- Conducting BOOT and wage analysis, supporting annual wage review and benchmarking processes.
- Designing, implementing and reporting on client Engagement and Pulse Surveys, including analysis of data and preparation of Findings Reports.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated people specialist who has a practical, commercial and go-getter approach to HR. You will have:
- A degree in Human Resources or a related field (essential)
- A minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in HR and ER
- A thorough understanding of, and ability to interpret and provide advice on, employment legislation such as Modern Awards, National Employment Standards, Fair Work Act, discrimination legislations etc.
- A pragmatic, structured and commercially sound approach to HR
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on finding practical solutions for clients
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with confidence to speak with employees and leaders at all levels of an organisation (up to CEO and Board)
- Strong administrative and communication skills (verbal and written)
- An interest in nurturing client relationships and conducting business development activity
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Flexibility in working hours
