We are currently seeking a HR/Payroll Officer to join their friendly HR team. This Payroll Officer will work with the outsourced payroll provider to ensure effective delivery of services across the 3 Australian business units (Vic, Qld and WA).
Reporting to the Payroll and HR Systems Specialist, this role will be the primary contact point to assist the employees with payroll related questions and issues. The role also supports the business by ensuring the maintenance of accurate, contemporary records in the payroll database and employee personnel records.
The successful candidate will be able to:
- Demonstrate a solution and improvement focused, customer-service centred approach to managing payroll activities and deliverables.
- Collate, coordinate, and reconcile the monthly pay runs for each of the 3 business units.
- Assist employees with general enquiries (payroll and general HR matters). Work to resolve identified problems / issues, escalating these as necessary.
- Processing new employee documentation relating to superannuation fund membership and payroll requirements.
- Processing employee terminations.
- Managing the HR inbox, assisting and responding to employee queries.
- Assist in the effective onboarding and offboarding of employees. This includes supporting the transfer of employees across business units.
- Liaise as necessary with external parties (salary packaging, superannuation) for the resolution of enquiries and employee requests / services; and
- Produce relevant reports as required.
What we are looking for:
- 5+ years' relevant payroll experience.
- Experience with outsourced payroll is desirable.
- Understanding of Payroll and HR practices.
- Understanding of computerised payroll systems and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
- Effective prioritisation of constant and high-volume workflow.
- Able to establish effective work processes and routines.
Candidates will be required to meet the pre-employment criteria which includes a medical, drug and alcohol screening, hold a valid manual driver's licence and a valid National Police Clearance.
