The RoleWe are seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to influence and drive positive safety practices to our dynamic teams of plant operators, enabling them to meet safe productivity, cost, and quality requirements to achieve targets.
As the HSEQ Advisor you will be responsible for assisting the Senior HSEQ and Site Supervisors to manage conflict and safety systems for the crew, and assist in rolling out new policies and procedures for a new project.
The role is initially based in Collie, WA on a 2:1 DIDO Roster and will require FIFO in the future.
Job tasks and responsibilities- Provide instruction, training, advice and guidance on all matters health and safety
- Monitor and negotiate any conflict resolutions relating to health and safety matters
- Disseminate all relevant health and safety information and documentation to all personnel representing Cardinal Contractors, customers, stakeholders or Mine Site personnel as required
- Prepare reports for Management relating to occupational health and safety
- Develop and maintain an occupational workplace health and safety system, including policies, procedures and manuals
- Assist with and develop emergency plans and procedures
- Promote occupational workplace health and safety within the Company
- Provide expert advice on all matters relating to occupational health and safety
- Provide advice on matters of safety, health and rehabilitation
- Review, assess and develop safer methods of working
- Inspect workplaces and equipment to ensure they meet safety regulations
- Identify hazards and risks, and develop procedures to minimise or eliminate them
- Lead the team in the development of JSEA’s
- Present Toolbox meetings and conduct pre-start meetings when required.
- A minimum of 3 years in a similar role in occupational health and safety
- Hold a relevant qualification in Occupational Workplace Health and Safety minimum Cert IV
- MUST have a valid TAE40116 Trainer and Assessor Cert IV - essentail
- Demonstrated adherence to accident and reporting procedures
- Exceptional knowledge and practical application of workplace Occupational Workplace Health & Safety
- Experience in working in a drive-in-drive-out (DIDO), fly-in-fly-out role (FIFO) is advantageous
- Incident investigation qualifications such as ICAM is advantageous
- Hold a current first aid and CPR certificate
- Experience in developing CRAWS, SWP’s and SWMS
- National Police Clearance (not older than 12 months).
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen.
