Our client is a leading civil contractor providing various services to the Australian mining industry and are predominantly involved with rehabilitation, construction, and maintenance across the Pilbara region.
By way of business growth and expansion, they now have an opportunity for either a HSE Manager, or an experienced Senior HSE Advisor looking to take the next step in their career.
This is a terrific opportunity to work for a medium-sized business (approx 220 + staff) where they are large enough to secure high quality project work, but small enough for you to be a key contributor to the business Health, Safety, Environment and Quality operations and improvements.
The Role:
In this position, your main responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee all internal safety compliance, documentation and programs and providing input to multiple projects across multiple sites leading Site HSE Advisors
- Maintain respectful and effective communication with all internal stakeholders and clients including some major mining operators such as Rio Tinto, BHP and FMG.
- Lead and support your team which consists of Senior Advisors, Site Advisors and Quality Controllers.
- Work closely with your team to develop, implement, monitor, review and improve company Health & Safety control systems and procedures.
- Understand how to achieve continuous improvement within the business and have ideas surrounding what needs to take place to achieve these goals.
- Have a growth mindset and maintaining a solution focused, positive outlook to all tasks or issues.
- Be part of the Senior Management team, involved with tenders, strategic decisions and company direction
To be successful for this position, you will have the following:
- Previous experience in a HSE leadership role with proven ability to lead other Advisors.
- Knowledge and previous exposure working on projects within the Mining and Resources sector.
- Relevant qualification in Health & Safety
- Solutions focused, practical, diplomatic and engaging approach to Safety
- Solid understanding of ISO Standards
- Understanding of internal auditing QA systems
