FSC is a Civil Construction business specialising in Civil, Electrical, Communications & Utilities Infrastructure works.
Due to business growth & expansion, a newly created position for a HSE Advisor has come on offer. This position will be hands-on across the entire business, working to manage the HSEQ frameworks.
The Role - HSE Manager
In a roaming role, you will work across multiple projects simultaneously - typically up to $5m project value. You will have the autonomy to manage your time effectively, working closely with the senior management and site delivery teams. A key part of this role will be to cultivate an outstanding safety culture by building and fostering effective relationships and driving continuous improvement.
Key duties of this role include:
- Providing HSE support and advice to all employees and management
- Assisting the team to ensure compliance relating to High Risk work and the client Critical Risk Management programs.
- Maintain the HSEQ Policies
- Ensure that HSEQ objectives are established at all relevant levels of the organisation
- Ensure that the planning of the HSEQ system is carried out to meet the requirements of the ISO9001:2015, ISO45001:2018 and ISO14001:2015 standards.
- Report on the performance of the HSEQ management system and on opportunities for improvement, in particular to the senior leadership team.
- Ensure the integrity of the Quality Management System is maintained when changes to the Quality Management System are planned and implemented.
- Ensure that the roles, responsibilities, accountabilities, authorities and their interrelation are defined and communicated.
- Ensure that appropriate communication is established within the organization and effectiveness of the IMS is communicated.
- Managing the incident and injury investigation and reporting process and follow-up on findings and corrective actions.
- Overseeing the injury management and return-to-work process
- Coordinate and support audits conducted by external providers to Maintain the business’ ISO Accreditation
- Providing accurate and quality HSE reporting as per client and company requirements.
- Communicating HSEQ updates via toolbox & pre-start meetings & safety alerts.
- Conducting site risk assessments and task observations
- Ensuring compliance to relevant HSEQ laws, regulations, company policies and guidelines

- A highly competitive salary package will be commensurate with experience, within the $120-140k + Super ballpark.
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
- Certificate IV in Leadership and Management
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a HSEQ related role in civil construction industry
- Lead Auditor or equivalent (Must be qualified to perform Internal Audits)
- Tertiary qualification in relevant field (OHS, WHS, Quality/)
- ICAM Lead Investigator or equivalent
- Prior experience working within the construction industry, preferably with exposure to the civil industry
- Excellent at implementing new systems and processes
- A keen interest to progress and expand with the business
- Drivers Licence
- Demonstrate an Advanced level of knowledge of Microsoft Office
- On-Site Environmental Management
