Job description

The HR Business Partner role is a valued strategic contributor to QBCC management teams by consistently providing high level, expert strategic, tactical, and operational HR advice, support and coaching that delivers clear business benefits and outcomes. By positively influencing and guiding the development and delivery of plans integrating business group goals and HR strategies, you will seek to build the capability of our leaders as effective people managers. You will be expected to work flexibly and collaboratively in a team environment to provide high quality outcomes for Human Resources, employees and stakeholders across the division.

Key Outcomes and Accountabilities

  • Establish and maintain key client releationships through development of in-depth knowledge of clients' business context and objectives and related people management challenges.
  • Work closely with the broader HR division to identify, plan and implement HR solutions that meet client priorities and align with organisational HR stragegies.
  • Provide strong, generalist and strategic HR expertise, advice and services as a senior member of a seamless and client focused HR team. These services include:
  • workforce planning, incorporating talent management, succession planning and workforce capability development
  • Implementation and on-going management of organisational change processes
  • performance management processes and outcomes
  • management of complex employee relations issues including sensitive issues such as complaints, grievances, separations
  • proactive management of workplace health and safety issues in conjunction with the WHS team including rehabilitation and return to work matters
  • developing and application of HR metrics to identify HR issues and to measure and evaluate the impact of HR initiatives and programs
  • Provide coaching and training to managers and leaders to build their knowledge and skills and to empower them to manage complex people issues proactively and effectively
  • Proactively analyse and report on key people management metrics, monitor trends and work with HR Director and managers to recommend strategies in response to identified trends
  • Contribute to the successful research, design and development of HR initiatives and policies through sharing up-to-date HR knowledge, HR solutions implementation experience and in-depth knowledge of the business
  • Prepare reports, submissions, briefing notes and other correspondence of a substantial and complex nature in relation to a range of Human Resources issues
